About me and Papilios Creative
My name is Dave Baldwin, welcome to Papilios Creative.
I have been on quite a journey and want to share it with you. I have worked in the Graphic Design and Print business for over 25 years but was made redundant in 2019 having worked for the same company for over 11 years. Following this news I lost my way for a while and was on a really bad journey until a chance meeting. I was speaking to a friend who told me about a charity called The Butterfly Garden. While looking for a job I decided to do some volunteer work with this charity as well as needing a reason to get up in the mornings. Well since I have been going to the charity I have been teaching graphic design and art to people of varying disabilities or those who like me, had lost their way a little. My confidence has grown so much that I now run an art group once a week at the charity, which has proven very popular. I have fallen back in love with my old hobby and now pursuing it as a career, with me painting over 500 artworks in my first two years. A new adventure has begun as an artist, while also supporting local charities at the same time which include Sue Ryder, Maggies Cancer Support, The James Hopkins Trust, The Bobby Gurney Mural Group, Cheltenham Animal Shelter and Gloucester Royal Hospital. Many Football Clubs Foundation Trusts have also benefitted from my art with donations. Hope you enjoy my art as much as I do, sharing it with you.
I am now doing bespoke commissions in watercolour specialising in sports stadiums and also animal portraits.
